Ada County emergency scanners crackled just before midnight Christmas Eve with the description of a suspicious subject in red with what appeared to be reindeer.
Dispatchers soon followed with an annual tradition — an original Christmas poem, "'Tis the Night before Christmas."
"It started out as just one of those things to do on a slow Christmas Eve and it snowballed on them," dispatch supervisor Bill McAfee said. "It has new actors every year."
