The best topic ever

I don't think intelligent people are as vulnerable to technobabble as the average person. The reason people fall for it isn't intelligence as much as it is the desire to be or seem intelligent. Jargon creates the impression of a knowledgeable elite. People like the idea of being welcomed into that elite.
The truly knowledgeable/intelligent have their own mental pitfalls, but slick presentation isn't usually one of them.
I do enjoy seeing a guy who's selling his "knowledge" warning readers against good salesmanship, though.
