Tattoos in the medical field

Does anyone see this as a problem? I always see people who have them getting dirty looks from patients and even some of their co-workers and I don't understand why ... I don't see it as a problem but what about everyone else ( OBVIOUSLY not talking about tattoos that contain profanity or things of that sort ... )
