Hey guys-
I had such a good shift the other night! It was a bit of everything:

Successful Suicide (Hanging in closet)
Unsuccessful Suicide (Pills)
AMI (mild)
MVA
Stab to throught (with air bubbles & all)
Stab to back (Also with air bubbles)
GSW (Shot poor guy in his driveway 5x)
Another stabbing
Stabbing to the head (Severed facial artery- Projectile bleeding)
Maternity
Maternity

I really enjoyd it coz usually its only maternities and assaults the whole night long, but this was good learning.

Give me any one of those calls and I'd call it a crazy shift.

Why so many suicide attempts? Is that a common call? What about stabbings?

Lets see, I last rode Fri Night with my volly service...( FD Based )

between 1430 and 2300 we had:

MVA with entrapment and fire (nice one)

Cardiac... Turned out to be a Code
WHICH BY THE WAY WAS A SAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Automatic Alarm ( B.S.)

Unconcious/Unresponsive at the local SNF...Ended up a DOA ( Valid DNR)

and 5 minutes after I left the overnight crew got a sick female.

A good shift for me is one that I don't have to work

What you had my friend was a BUSY shift there is nothing good about a stabing or GSW, I don't classify between good and bad.... There all bad to me. I rather use terms busy, slow, or no hitter.... But I can understand how you feel I was like you at one time, and wanted to see it all ;)
