are there differences in the requirements for getting certified between the two states? My EMT course is in NH, I've seen contradictory articles going both ways but they all seem outdated.

This site suggests that MA accepts the NREMT for reciprocity.

There is no better time to take the NREMT test than right after you complete your EMT course. If you think you might work in multiple states, it’s worth your time. It also simplifies state certifications in many (not all) states.
