new here. finishing up my fire / emt-b program and am looking for a solution to roll into medic as quickly as i can. unfortunately, i live in a rural area. there's one college locally that offers a medic / ems program (it's where my emt-b will be) but once all my fire/emt is over, the only thing available will be mon-fri 8-6 and this won't work for me. I'll end up having to wait a while to get started when I could already be a good ways in or even maybe near completion. my job is flexible enough i can take off to attend skills days and stuff.

so, if you were forced to choose one, would be it percom or tech-pro and why?

i'm still researching colleges/schools that are somewhat close but i feel i better address this option as well.

I would recommend not "rolling into medic as fast as you possibly can". Find a well rounded school to get you there. By finishing as fast as you can you are doing a disservice to you and your patients.

Both provide quality education. The draw back is trying to transfer the education for college credit, not sure if they have gotten tied to a college yet, at one point both were looking at it. If I had to choose between the two? I would choose Percom because the owner, Jane, actually was one of the founders of Tech Pro. She was also involved in an online program at a college. You could say she is really one of the pioneers of online EMS education.

Now if you are looking for easy do not choose either. Go to the local college it will be easier. Quality online education requires more effort, more self dedication. You must be able to research. Are you a procrastinator? If so online is not a good ideal.
