A little background. I currently work at St Jude Medical in engineering, making pacemakers. I am interested in pursuing medical school in the future, however I would like to take a couple years off and pursue some other interests of mine while I am young. It seems working as a paramedic part time is the best solution to my situation, whereas it will look good for medical school as well as give me some free time.
I was thinking working one 24 hour shift a week. I am wondering if anyone else works like this, and if so, what kind of living wage I can expect to come from one 24 a week.
I live in los angeles, and once i leave my current job, income from my other interests will be around 400 a week. is working one 24 hour shift a week enough to stay a float?
