Hey all, I was hoping someone could give me an idea of hours I will be putting into Paramedic. I know the course runs a full semester here, 8-6 every Tuesday and Thursday. I'm a single parent, with no involvement from the other parent, my parents both work full time, so I am considering daycare and having my brother watch my daughter. I plan on working part time as an EMT-IV to pay for childcare. (EMT-IV is EMT-B in the state of TN, we only have EMT-IV or Paramedic)

I've read through some posts and saw where a few of you had recommended a certain number of hours for clinicals a week and keeping at that, and setting aside a day of rest.

So to be prepared, what exactly can I expect hours wise? Any other single parents been through this? My parents are willing to help me pick my daughter up from daycare or keep her on the weekends, and it's something they are encouraging me to do. So I have the support and drive to get it done. But I would like to be prepared in advance and pace myself to avoid a major burn out.

This will be the first semester that I won't be taking any side courses, as well. So any suggestions on time and how to prepare from those with the experience is greatly appreciated!

I guess I should also mention that it's a summer course, so June-August (only time it's offered at this school) and my daughter is a year and a half, so I don't want to miss everything involving her in the summer, either.
