Good mornin` all! I have been a volunteer EMT basic for over 4 years now and realized in the first 6 months I love it. I also have my EVOC as well, work PRN in a local hospital as a clinical tech so my basic skills really help me out as I work on the telemetry/heart ward. On occasion I do help out with scenario's in the EMT basic classes, be it I am the "patient" or evaluating their skills afterwards.
Not too much to tell about myself. I was very fortunate to have a paramedic to work under at my first fire/rescue squad who was very patient, knowledgeable and caring and didn't hesitate to use her basic when she had a call that we needed all the skills of both of us combined.
I look forward to hearing others stories and hopefully contributing a few of my own or learning new things.
