Hey I am a new 19 y/o EMT-B student in Minnesota i am about half way thru my class and i am loving it i did my first clinical today and i was able to learn a lot! i was just wondering if you guys/gals had any tips or things to watch out for or tips on gaining the respect of my peers and fellow EMT as i enter the field.

Welcome to the forum. The more training you go to the more you realize that you really don't know that much. Above all, scene safety!:)
 
BLS hand guide is a plus. I carry mine with me every where i go, always good to freshen up or even learn something new.

If you're looking for a job ASAP after you graduate, look into additional requirements that companies have. This way you can start working on them now and be ready in minimal time before you can start working.

You can go to Barns and Nobles to get the EMS Field Book. Here in NJ once you pass your EMT cert, they send you one for free.

Thanks for all the tips i appreciate it. Any tips on the National registry exam? I have that coming up in about 3 weeks ill let you guys know how i do.
