Hello All -

I've been "lurking around" here for the past couple of weeks since registering waiting to actually start EMT-B school before introducing myself. Since I started school yesterday I decided it was time to say hello :)

I've been in law enforcement for the past 21 years and decided it was time to expand my knowledge and skills plus I know several EMT's and paramedics (all great people).

Since I work 3rd shift I'm having to attend EMT-B school on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. I then work from 10:00 PM to 6:15 AM. It's a good think that my District Office is located next door to our Police and Fire Training Academy where the classes are held so I can get to work quick! The course ends December 14th and we take the NC State test Dec. 15th. Wow that seems like a long time away.

Anyway... I've enjoyed reading your posts the last couple of weeks and hope that I'll be able to contribute to this on-line community in the future.

Rock on.

I've met a few medics and EMTs who have done the switch to LEO. I also had some LEO in my EMT class who wanted to do the same.

I'm about to move to NC on sunday:blush:

Welcome to the forum, and good luck in your EMT class.

Hi! 21 years, wow! Are you eligible for retirement there? My fiance has 10 years in and can't wait until he hits 20 and retires... although I told him he's not allowed to stop working, lol. :)

Welcome all to EMTlife, where we put the Fun in Dysfunction!

Welcome!! I spent 11 years in full-time Law Enforcement and have 16 years in EMS. You will find they compliment each other very well.

BTW........ EMS has always taken care of my family.

Welcome to the best EMS site on the web and good luck in class!
