I wondering if anyone knows of a good paramedic school in CO? There are SEVERAL schools here. I am IV/EKG Certified and I have already taken AP. I recently finished my EMT-Basic and have completed a 4 month internship. Any ideas?
You need at least a year of EMT-B experience before you can apply to any decent paramedic school. I second HealthONE has an excellent program, the instructor is nothing short of a genius and the school itself is rigorous and academically intense. I also recommend Denver Health, the classroom portion is not quite as good but they have an excellent clinical experience opportunities.
Documented fact. I can see both sides of the argument, however any decent school in CO requires a year of experience. Is that your opinion or is that documented fact on the 1 year?

The plus side is that you get people that know what they are getting into and have spent some time in EMS to figure out that they really want to do this. The down side is that some basics learn really bad habits or develop a poor attitude from too much time as an EMT. I think we can all agree that EMS education needs some serious work, but these particular schools do an excellent job educating paramedics.Never have figured out why some schools still use that out dated thinking. More and more colleges are letting you start with 0 get basic first semester and just keep going until a Paramedic.
