MABAS - What are your opinions

Many of the Fire Departments in our county are forming a MABAS Division. I am working with them to help coordinate the EMS side of things. I would appreciate feedback on what people think of MABAS. Feel free to list advice, dos/don'ts, numbering issues, any relevant thoughts. Thanks.

If you are setting up a MABAS it means these services need to regionalize, but then not everyone can be a chief so they implement crap like MABAS instead.

MABAS........Mutual Aid Box Alarm System. Developed in Illinois and used in the midwest mostly. It is basically a mutual aid system using generic predeveloped mutual aid responses from neighboring departments or divisions.
