There's been a few times while taking a BP that I could hear the Korotkoff after i deflated the cuff entirely. Not often, but enough times that I'm curious if others have had that too. I talked to an RN after my turnover once and he said it happens sometimes but he wasn't sure why. I was hoping someone else might have some input. Also if you've run into this before, how did you record the BP? I typically record it as palpated and then describe what actually happened while giving the turnover report.

Don't press so hard on the stethoscope. If you press it to the arm, you can create the audible occluded flow with just the bell, or occlude it against the bone. It barely needs to lay on the skin, especially for those thinner people that you'll commonly hear that on.

Deffinitly sounds like this, the sounds are low pitched you dont need to press hard at all.
