Just curious, when you receive your nremt card can you take that and work in another state?? ex. i live in ohio and i'm thinking about moving to florida when im done with medic school, am i able to work in fla as a medic, or do i have to retake the course in fla???? sorry if the question sounds dumb, lol.

It depends upon the state. One needs to notify and contact State EMS Office before doing so and get an official answer as well as the needed papers and requests.

Florida:

EMT-B is NREMT

EMT-P has it own test from the state.

As vent stated, FL has it's own testing.

If you have your NREMT-P, You need to prove to the state that your training was up to their standards, Then you can take the state exam.
