Infant dies in fire across street from fire station

TRENTON, N.J. -- An infant died in a house fire Wednesday as a woman and three other children tried to extinguish the blaze inside an apartment that sits directly across the street from a firehouse, authorities said.
Witnesses said they could see the woman trying to fight her way back into the apartment after carrying her three children out, but she was unable to rescue the infant.
