I think we should have a job posting section. Or if there is one point me to it. Thanks

Move to Indiana.. I'll give you a job.

Moved to the Suggestions forum. I like your idea and I think we may be able to make it work. Let me think about it for a while and see what we can do.

things to consider:

how long a job posting should remain active(some jobs fill very quickly)
what qualifies as a job posting( "i think sometime in the next xxx, my company is going to be putting some guys on" v. an actual published posting)
details required(i.e. something more than " hey call xyz ambulance and ask for billy bubba. tell em billy bobby sent ya").
etc etc.

if this is going to be effective as a networking tool, there has be rules or it will just turn into a giant C.F.

Good idea.
I'd say have the rules be pretty tight. Require at least a few things if someone is posting a job expecting to get resumes from it.

-job title
-basic description
-detailed requirements
-end date for applications (no open ended postings)
-full contact info and link to company website (if there is one)

If this takes off the site could add a mini-resume builder into the profile so companies could look around if they want to.

I'm not sure that the forum is the best place to post job openings, but hopefully we can find a good place for them that integrates into the forum.

There can be an issue with posting someone's contact information on a web based forum...especially if they don't consent to it. However, I don't think this is an insurmountable problem.

unless that information is otherwise posted in another public domain. so i could post a copy of a job add i came across on the internet, since its already in the public domain(as long as i dont violate any copyrights etc in the process).

Well I got a job but I would still like to see what else is out there.
