Hello everyone! I am new to this! I was thinking about going to school for a EMT, I live in Sac Ca area...anyone have any advise? Thank you

Hey Brooklyn! Glad to see you wanting to pursue a career in EMS. Take into consideration though, you will be disrespected, you will not get paid much, you will get sh** on, and you will not save every patient. EMS is mentally and physically demanding.

I'd suggest hitting up your local department for a ride-a-long to see if you like it or not. Take a CPR First Aid class too.

However, EMS is extremely rewarding. To me, nothing feels better than knowing you've helped someone. The Vietnam veteran who shook all of our hands and told us, "You guys do a hell of a good job" reaffirmed that for me.

Anyways best of luck in pursuing this field! I think you'll truly enjoy it.
