Going on first ambulance ride!!

A wonderful person here at EMTLIFE referred me to an apprenticeship program. Thank you very much btw. I met with the Director yesterday and before I start the paperwork he wants me to be a ride along in the ambulance. I am so excited! I'm actually surprised they would let someone do this. It's a 12 hr. shift on Sunday so I will let y'all know how it went.
I'm very sure they will let me know exactly how to stay out of the way but any suggestions would be helpful.

Please, please, please take this advice. In fact, take it one step further by showing up well-groomed. It's a pet-peeve to have ride-a-longs show up and they don't have their shirt tucked in and haven't shaved in a few days.

Have fun, it's the best way to look at joining the EMS....hope you get some good jobs on your observer shift.

P.S. Not to scare you in any way...but here in NZ, on one of my observer shifts,
we went to a cardiac arrest and I ended up being the extra pair of hands, doing compressions.
