I was wondering what yalls experience was as a part time emtb and going to school full time?

I was offered a position at a local ems system here in Tx, but they told me I would be part time (which is great since i go to school fulltime), but that I would be on call.

Is being on call as bad as it sounds?

You don't make enough being an EMT-B

I wouldn't necessarily advise against it, but realize that as a part-timer, it's going to take you longer to become comfortable / competent in your role. I did part time EMS / full time school (completely unrelated to healthcare) as my first job in EMS, and while I did fine, I would have much preferred to have started out full-time.

do you want a full-time gig while going to school?
do you have any other offers?

what is the part-time deal? scheduled shifts? on call? per diem?

I would go for it over not working.
