Dying man gets the ride of a lifetime
SALEM, Ore. (AP) — An ambulance is the last thing most people want to imagine pulling up to their house. For John Stacy, it was his dream.
Stacy, 43, has congenital heart failure, but has never required an ambulance. That disappointed Stacy, who has a collection of miniature ambulances and begs his caregivers to call paramedics whenever he catches a cold.
Paramedics from Woodburn Ambulance volunteered to give him a 15-minute ride, complete with lights and sirens.
