any one know anything about DFD? their website isn't informative at all.
also, does any one work for them? know salary?

i'd like to try and get on with dallas FD, they are really close to my area. and with a city as big as they are. im sure they would be looking to recruit as many qualified individuals as possible.

Don't know much about them. Just wanted to clear one thing up though. A lot of big fire departments go years without hiring anyone. And once they do, they usually have thousands of applicants for a small number of spots. They are also have to be paramedics if you are looking at the EMS side of it.

Also I just looked up their site and its pretty informative. They are in the middle of a hiring process right now, so who knows when the next one will be.

The golden P-Card helps out a lot in many departments that have firemedics.

I would call HR or recruitment and request information. Some departments have a waiting list - you submit your information, and they will alert you when the hiring process is opening up.

College veteran paramedic is the trifecta of FD hiring.

They appear to be a civil service department as well which significantly changes the hiring process compared to most jobs.
