Our student run ALS transport agency out of Binghamton University was addressed in this article published by JEMS, great review of the care provided and the training/logistics behind it in last month's flood of Binghamton, NY and the surrounding region. Great read if you have a few moments!

...and THAT came from an educational institution?

How odd!

...and kudos to the team; what a wonderful model for every Campus' EMS squad in planning for such contingencies; apparently no one else had as much foresight in the neighborhood.

This is a really good example as to how a campus EMS service would be effective.

The college EMS service I am in is pretty much clear to start as strictly stand-bys at sporting events, for now, (and we're fine by that, gotta take baby steps with this sort of thing) but I'm sure if we had formed this a year ago and had a semester of great performance, the University might have asked us to help in the recent hurricane that passed through. The school had opened up a few days prior and students were suggested to evacuate, but weren't forced to.
