CAAS Accrediation

Is your ambulance service CAAS accrediated? If so, what does it mean to you as a service?

I know services around here, mine included, that work hard and spend lots of money on the accrediation, but does it really mean much? As an employee I don't see many of the benefits, do you?

The State of PA has a rather tough standard for EMS vehicles as to Minimum staffing, equipment, and response / scratch times... not always inforced, but a decent standard.

I don't know of any CAAS - accredited PA services.

I've driven CAAS-accredited trucks before - and they were missing things that you must have in PA (like portable suction).

And I think the benefits from the employee standpoint is that you work for a provider with "bragging rights"
