Jack Webb had a stable of actors that he liked to use and was very loyal to them. Watch old dragnets Adam 12 and emergency and you will find many faces you have seen before. Julie London, (Dixie) was his ex wife, and her new hubby was Bobby Troupe (Joe Early) Marco, Chet, Mac etc were part of Jacks favorites.
 
Emergency! and Adam-12 are the best. My Dad was a police and I ended up a firefighter-paramedic. I guess I was influenced to be in public service from the start and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Well, the kid's "father" used to do Ames Home Loan ads around LA in the Seventies. Otherwise, as above.
"Marco" was an actual local firefighter with a SAG card.

Anyone remember the episode of "Emergency!" where Johnny kept trying to find out how an episode of "Adam 12" had ended?
