do have any county card? you don't need a sac county card any card will do as long as it is current for any county in CA,
most companies around here want a "recent" DMV H6 which I think means within 14 days. I would get all my apps together and ready before getting the printout make a bunch if copies and mail them out same day.
but the answer is I would get both before applying, especially since all the companies around here require it as part of the app process.

Hell, you can apply for a job as an ER physician if you want, it's a free country.
Now, whether or not a company will give you the time of day without meeting their minimum requirements is another story.
