    Best line ever

This is a short one but still funny. Me and my partner were overseing the newbie in the service when we arrived at the hospital with a patient in full c-spine immobilisation. When we arrived in the ER and were to transfer the patient on the ER stretcher, the newbie tells him:"Don't move sir...

For those of you who have been doing this awhile...

I've been at it for the past 6 years now and still going strong. I take very good care of my health and take time for myself when not working. It all depends how you handle stress also. If you are someone who gets stressed out easily, you might be prone to "burn outs" it is hard to tell just...

    Auto pulse by Zoll

Have any of you ever worked a code with an auto pulse? It's a board to put under the patient and then there is a band that wraps around the chest of the patient and performs chest compressions by doing uniform compressions of the thorax. Works great. It can be brought right into the house...

    Martial Arts

Was in judo and wrestling. Never had a chance to hook up on any other martial art as I injured my hip in a basket ball tournament. The pain came back everytime I trained with my Judo / wrestling buddies so I had to quit for now.

    Calling all "Hams"

Ham operators are vital to EMS. When I worked for the red cross, we had a Ham operator assigned to every district in case of disaster. I never had the chance to take the training tought.

Officers Accidentally Shoot Man In Tree

I find this hard to swallow. Around here, the officer hand guns and the Tazers. Plus the officers here have so much paperwork to do each time they draw their weapon, i'm very suprised one would mistaken one for another. It's like going to get a spine board and come in with a scoop stretcher...

    Your First Call

My first call was kinda odd. It was an 16 year old girl who tried to commit suicide. She bought this stuff (it looked like colgate toothpaste) off the street for $20 and told us it was supposed to kill her within the hour after ingestion. Still don't know what it was but someone got an easy...

    Young Men, Bad Calls

Ouch, those are tough calls. We had one like that last summer. The kid was 16 years old and had saved all winter for a four wheeler. He was enjoying his new bike when he was climbing up an offramp and didn't make it up. The ATV tipped over and he fell with the bike. He landed in the water...

    Packing Heat on the Ambulance

Greetings, Myself, i wouldn't dare ask an officer to remove his weapon before entering my rig. When an officer gets into my rig, it's because i have a fellon, criminal or suspect in my bus. If things get ectic, I want that officer to have his full arsenal to deal with the situation. As far...

    Bad day at work

Greetings Jenn, I feel really sorry for you. This kind off situation should never happen to anybody, especially to someone new. We got individuals (that is the only civil term I could find) in our service that are like that. Once I worked with their "leader" and it was horrible. You feel...
