Has anyone here been accepted into foothill college's medic program with A&P from a private school? Such as NCTI? Or know anyone who has? I'm having a hard time getting into A&P due to classes being cut back..everything is overfilled. Just wondering if its even worth the hassle considering its...
Has anyone heard anything(good or bad) regarding their paramedic program? I'm looking into their program, but haven't found many reviews besides yelp. I'd like to try to gather some info before I take the dive and start the application process. Thanks!
Working on a 1:1 rig will be the best thing you can do for yourself in regards to prepping for paramedic school. You learn things that can't be taught in a classroom and it becomes second nature for you. Especially if you have good medics that actually want to pass on some knowledge and help...
I think this is going to have a lot to do with your application and any hirings.
I hate to be a negative nancy, but if you haven't already, talk to people in these counties to try and paint a picture for yourself. It's a weird and rough time for AMR right now.
But if you want to apply and...
You'd definitely get in trouble for inviting yourself to test. I shouldn't say "in trouble" but it would hurt your chances of getting hired there. Yes, they keep track of who is invited to come in and test.
Could be a number of reasons. Did you call their hiring department? I'd start there. Let...
The academy has probably already started, but in case it hasn't and for anyone else, legs, leg endurance and cardio. Sure you've gotta have some upper body strength, but those 3 things are crucial.
Yeah, Modesto's HR lady is super nice. If you haven't received your letter you should be ok. Hope it works out for you, Stanislaus is a fun county to work in. Good luck.
You can transfer once you're off probation. I've heard of people transferring while on probation as long as it's approved by both counties. Not sure who the approval has to go through, though. And I'm not sure if it's an actual transfer. I think you need approval to just apply for another county...
Just giving you a hard time, but considering your other thread, you should go for it if they're hiring. I think it's a good county to work in if you've never worked 911. Pretty simple layout. Only a few main hospitals. Traffic isn't too crazy for code 3 driving. It's a good gig.
Oh I don't know, maybe I'm just making stuff up. I've worked in several counties, Stan being one of them. Take it as you will, though.
I posted the same info in your other thread.
You run both. Assuming you're hired as PT, you work whatever shift is available that you want to pick up. But they aren't going to force you to work BLS.
Everybody's companies keep saying they're confident about winning the bid. From what I'm hearing from the county and hospitals, it will be faulk if anyone. Pro and Bay Medic feel confident about it, too. They don't even have the numbers in rigs for that kind of gig. Until then it's all hearsay...
If that's the case I might as well stay where I'm at. I'll still go through with the interview tomorrow, but I was under the impression that I was interviewing for paramedics plus.
