Hi all,
My NJ emt b license expired in June of this year. Ive been hunting for info all over the web but cant get a definitive answer. Does anybody know if i can take a recert class? Or do I need to re take the course all over again? Thank you.
I think you have the wrong idea here. That's ok..you have no way of knowing me but there is no reason to jump to conclusions like that. I do not own a scanner, I'm not a wacker, buff, or whatever you call it. I am simply certified as a firefighter for 9 years and an EMT going on 2 years. If...
I meant I'm not riding w/ a squad. There's good samaritan laws as well. I'm still a certified Firefighter/EMT. You don't really need an ambulance to stop and help someone either. It's kind of a stupid conversation to have. I've already got what I needed so this topic can be locked.
When did I say I was out of EMS? I'm an EMT. And stopping to help people when I have the qualifications to do so is frowned upon? If you aren't able to help with my request, don't worry about anything else.
I am taking a break from a local volunteer squad because my baby is due any day. Until I go back to EMS I'd like my own jump bag for my vehicle. If anyone has contents they are looking to sell, let me know. Require trauma dressings, saline, etc.
I'm not sure how it'll work out for you since your going through a different route but I need a paramedic to write me a letter of recommendation. Not to discourage you but jobs are VERY scarce right now.
We don't have EMT-A's in NJ but my plates say EMT-A on them. Turns out in NJ EMT-A means EMT-Ambulance. Weird state we have here. The plates were $25 but not sure if it cuts down on reg costs or not.
I'm really curious..why does the word sympathy keep coming up? At which point did I mention I was looking for anyone to hold my hand? Why anyone would go out of their way to look for an excuse to be a jerk off is beyond me. I'm sorry I ever posted on this forum, I really am.
You are correct, but his girlfriend could have driven him as well. I should also clarify I am new to EMS. I have been a firefighter since 2000 and the abuse of the EMS system came as quite a shock to me. I got my EMT cert mainly to help others including my kids (which I do not have yet), my...
Holy crap. I'm sorry if I came off wrong. I'm not looking for sympathy and I've been doing this for 8 yrs. However, I've never seen someone take such advantage of the system before ergo my rant. It was a vent to people who I thought would understand the point of the story. Apparently not.
Just have to complain to people who understand, not that it's even a huge deal. We are 100% volunteer first. Last night 11PM I'm home about to go to sleep but I am on call for duty crew and we get a call for man with flu like symptoms. First responder returns us right away telling us there is...
Queeze eaze is the only thing that's ever worked for me..I've also seen it work on others. Typically if the patient is going to chuck..they have problems far beyond just feeling sicks and it's inevitable.
I'm going to disagree. I think the college degrees will decrease your chance. EMT pay is crap and with a degree they know it's only a matter of time before you go make more somewhere else.
I don't understand..If a NREMT approached me or anyone for that matter other than an officer or paramedic I'd A. Be in shock and B. ask who they think they were. Just tell him to go away.
In NJ my class had a few 16 yr olds in it. When they take the state test and pass they are provisional. They can perform all EMT duties as long as there is another active EMT next to them.
