We’re also looking seriously at the VOCSN +. It seems to be a very capable vent for our needs.

That didn’t seem exceptionally pro Hamilton. It’s a very nice box. You pay for that though. As I mentioned above, we would primarily use vents for CPAP/BiPAP and during arrests/post ROSC. We very seldom transport vented patients, so the critical care aspect isn’t as important, although it’s...

We just had an exhaustive Hamilton demo and the Zoll rep will be in after the 4th. I am also being pitched the O-two E700 and the VOCSN +. I don’t know much about either of those.

I saw Modern English, Soft Cell and Simple Minds in Philly last week and it was absolutely amazing. One of the best concerts I’d seen. (And I’ve been to a LOT of concerts!) It was like the 80s all over again!

    Combining two M O2 tanks

Your oxygen supplier can provide you with a cascade style yoke so you don’t simply equalize the pressure between the two.

We would use them primarily for shorter transports, patients primarily on BiPAP. It’s not often that we intubate and ventilate patients in the field, we’re just not that service. But, we would certainly use the vent in that case, as opposed to just bagging a patient to the hospital. We don’t do...

    New Zoll monitor.

Yes. I’m a Zoll fan. I bought them at my previous service to replace a fleet of aging MRx monitors and at my current agency to replace lifepak 15s. The Zoll vs Stryker debate is the same as Ford vs Chevy. You’ll never change anybody’s mind.

    New Zoll monitor.

It’s on the side. It now turns on as soon as you plug it in, but it’s massimo capno, not oridion. The pouches aren’t a separate case like the current version, they “click lock” directly to the device.

    New Zoll monitor.

It’s called the Zenix and it has a touchscreen and a knob/dial like the Lifepak. (WTF! They listened) Same basic size as an X series, which will still be produced, and has a redesigned printer, better capnography and some other really nice features. Looks pretty awesome. I only saw the flyer...

We just bought our HazMat truck from a builder in Washington state. We paid a guy to drive it out to PA for us. He stopped and took pics at the tourist spots along the way.

It was the day my CT Cert arrived in the mail. Person down. Turned out to be a dead person. Had been dead for several days. Welcome to EMS.

Here comes the Future of AI health care

I’ve been pretty fascinated by the role AI is starting to play in healthcare. I use it regularly—mostly for data analysis, spotting trends, and cleaning up or rewriting complicated documents that need to be sharp and accurate. AI’s strength really lies in its ability to synthesize the...
