How good is the job market for EMT's?

I agree I can't put my finger on it, but something just feels wrong, about this thread and others the OP has started

How good is the job market for EMT's?

Again, spoken by someone that doesn't know, what they don't know.

    Questions about CPR

Many in EMS are volunteers, or only work PRN or Part-Time, they do not work EMS as their Full-Time career (paying their mortgage, vehicles, food, etc.) When I went thru Paramedic school in 1984, we were told the "average" length of time in EMS, for an individual was 5 years I would hazard a...

NREMT Roadblock – Time to Be Done

Might I suggest, if you pass, that you maintain your NRP, instead of letting it lapse. Lots of folks will tell you that NREMT is a scam, and not worth the money to maintain. Just curious, would it have been easier, and cheaper, if you simply had maintained it (NRP), rather than letting it lapse?

    40 Years of NREMT Certification

It often feels like that! My knees and back keep telling me 50 years isn't looking good! LOL!

    40 Years of NREMT Certification

I find all of your points fair, with merit, and very well said! I do understand that NREMT cannot be everything, for everybody As to your being "inactive", that is very easy to change, from what I understand, just maintain your Con-Ed until you're able to get your Med Dir to sign you off, and...

    40 Years of NREMT Certification

Again, the reason I brought it up is due the hatred of NREMT, from so many folks at this site I never said anyone was stupid But yes, I do find many are lazy

    40 Years of NREMT Certification

I'm going to clearly articulate the NREMT hatred shown by many at this site Feel better now? Would it make you feel better about yourself if I apologized for maintaining my NRP?

    40 Years of NREMT Certification

Sort of like how you "condescendingly judge" (your words, not mine) those that maintain NREMT? I never said NREMT was a "higher level", but I certainly have known many Paramedics that couldn't pass the test The reason I brought it up is because of the hatred shown for the NREMT, at this site...

    40 Years of NREMT Certification

Thank you! As I said, I realize not all were due to failing, but in the 80's and 90's, in MY experience, the vast majority were due to failing I am from PA, which was NOT a state that required NREMT in 1984, in fact PA had 2 levels of Paramedic then, Paramedic-I and Paramedic-II Paramedic-I's...

    40 Years of NREMT Certification

I've heard similar, and many other things, for 40+ years As I said, in the 80's and 90's it usually was from those that couldn't pass the test (not all, but most) I knew some that did pass, but then were too lazy to get the few hours of Con-Ed to maintain The best part, to me anyway, was when...

    40 Years of NREMT Certification

Last I knew (it might be different now) it was somewhere around 45 states used the NREMT test for Paramedic Didn't you just tell AirEvac, and the border state, that NREMT is a needless test, and that you don't need to take a needless test, from a needless organization?

    40 Years of NREMT Certification

Fair enough, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But I am curious, if it's so useless, why did you need to take it AGAIN for AirEvac? Sure sounds to me like it has some use, and it CERTAINLY has had use for me, for over 40 years........

    40 Years of NREMT Certification

Thank you! I'm from PA, it was not mandatory, it was voluntary. I've never regretted obtaining, and maintaining it When I went to NJ in 1990, for a Part-time Medic gig (was there for 27 years), NREMT made it very easy to get my NJ MIC-P cert

    40 Years of NREMT Certification

Today I received my certificate for 40 Years of NREMT Certification Seems to be much hatred for NREMT by EMS folks, which always amazes me I received my NREMT-A in 1983 and NREMT-P in 1984

Most folks/places consider a minimum of 20 years as a career As such, my WAG (Wild *** Guess) is that may be why they picked 20 years as the first Merry Christmas everyone!
