After a year on FDNY you can apply to take the promotional exam for paramedic. if you pass the exam, and a posistion/academy slot is available, they will call you to attend the FDNY paramedic school at The Rock. once you complete the academy you will be assigned to whatever station needs a medic.

EMT's dont get designated breaks for us to relax. when ever we arent on a call we will close our eyes and relax for as long as we can because after the next call we might just keep going. the public needs to learn how we operate so the can stop being ignorant.
