    First Responders exempt from Obamacare

A blog-posted change to the ACA, by Treasury Dept on Friday afternoon: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/jan/10/first-responders-exempt-obamacare-calculations/ Not sure what this means but I work for a big agency as a part-timer and the rumors have been flying about the health care...

    Best cure for a hangover

A friend in college suffered kidney damage from a MVA and needed dialysis for a few months while his kidneys recovered. He'd go in hungover and come out fresh as a daisy. Kind of an expensive cure, though. EMS hungover must suck, though. Thankfully, I never get in that situation.

Do you notice that you bring illness home from work?

You're right! After adopting this silly nickname I found out that Bonebrake (or -break) is a real last name.

There were no personality trait questions, it was 100% BLS questions. No mention of pee test or physical ability tests but that should come as no surprise to anyone who gets past this hurdle. Now the wait ... ugh ... the wait.

AMR's mass hire event in CT

I just got back from AMR's New Haven facility. They hosted two days of 100+ candidates applying for approximately 50 part time slots across Connecticut. It was a 100 question written exam, 2 practical stations (trauma & medical), and a 15 minute face-to-face interview. The staff were very...

Post the # your test stopped at, and if you Passed/Failed

Tested on 9/27 - I wasn't paying attention to the number of questions. The last one I saw was 53. I probably got to around 70 then it stopped, which made me nervous. I figured if the test stops in the low range you've either done really well or quite poorly. I passed, first time. I re-read...
