    UTHSCSA Paramedic

So I assume since you are already enrolled that you are on thier part time schedule? I know the full time is 5 days a week, how about thier part time? How do you like it, as far as class size and instructors. Thanks in advance for letting me pick your brain on this particular subject.

    Southern Cross Central Texas area

Ok so does any one have any first hand knowledge of Southern Cross in the Central Texas area. I saw on their application that they have different units around the area. Any information would help, the only thing I know about them is that in San Marcos they used to joke and call them Southern...

    Employment in Texas

I believe you are right, CCFD does handle thier own city limits. I know I applied with Guardian EMS on thier website they have that. You might be able to look under San Patricio County not sure if that helps.

    Randy Powell

I remember reading a few things about him, none of which were positive so I hope you get some info on here about him. I am interested in it because I have applied for a few positions with the company. If you find anything out via PM please include me in on them. Thank you.

    Employment in Texas

Its Guardian EMS from what I can find on the web. They cover Corpus Christi, and the Gregory/Portland area. Rocketmedic40 I was stationed in CC and I actaully applied with Guardian EMS as an EMT-B and never heard anything back from them. If you need any insight to the area please feel free to...

    Employment in Texas

You know I figured since I was coming off of 6 years active duty and the fact that I have pretty decent loyalty to past employers that I would be an ideal candidate. Then again I could just be being impatient and not giving the companies time to get back to me. It is still a concern that I...

    Employment in Texas

Yeah and it didn't help when Katrina hit NOLA. The flood gates were open and the crime in East Texas, Houston, and Dallas rose drastically. I just the same not live or work in that area. Anyways we shall see as far as employment goes, if all else fails I will go get my Paramedic, and then...

    Employment in Texas

I have seen that Acadian is offering a $5k sign on bonus for that area. That area is one that I simply look past. I do not like to judge, but that part of East Texas to me is still pretty racially charged. When I was stationed in Mississippi and we would travel through there we would always...

    Employment in Texas

DFKlein, I agree if it wasn't for my GI BIll, and the fact that my wife is finishing LVN/LPN school in two weeks I would seriously have to reconsider my decision. When a cashier makes more than an EMT or a Paramedic for that matter it is a sad day. I guess if the market isnt out there I can...

    Employment in Texas

I am actually pretty open, I am moving back to the Central Texas area in a few months from a 6 yr enlistment in the military. I have pretty much applied from Temple, south to SA to the CC area and I have looked in the West Texas area. I even put in for a spot in East Texas. Perhaps it could...

    Employment in Texas

So this goes out to my fellow Texans, I have applied for several jobs as an EMT-B with no success. I was torn between working as a Basic for a little while and going to get my Paramedic. My questions is once I do obtain my Paramedic is finding a job/career department as difficult as it is as a...

    Scott & White EMS

Thats great, I know my buddy really enjoys working for them, and as far as them responding to my application they were pretty quick. I think it took them about a week. I wish I could say the same for the other companies I have applied with. I will contact them next month to see if they still...

    EMT-B classes.

Modernist, I would have copied and pasted your post, but since it was long I figured I could chime in with out it. A little background on my self, I am a EMT-B and have been for a couple of years now. I actually have two different experiences with an EMT course, I took one in Texas some 6 to 8...

    Scott & White EMS

Jdub, I forgot about Acadian, the information that I obtained is from a buddy of mine that works for Scott & White as an LVN. Although I am pretty sure he knows what he is talking about if you check their website, it does not appear that as a basic you would be doing much more than...

    Scott & White EMS

So I put in an application last week with Scott &White out of Temple, Texas and was invited to test this Friday. I was wondering if any of you had information on them? I found out through a buddy of mine that is an LVN there, that Scott & White (EMS) handle most of the 911 and transfer calls in...

    TX's Paramedic course

Thanks for the information, I have looked at the UTSW course; however being from the Central Texas area and having youngins' I would prefer to stay in the area with family available for those unplanned situtations that can arise. One question that comes to mind, Is the quality of medic because...
