I am moving back to Texas. I am from DFW, but I am open to looking anywhere. I have not worked EMS in Texas, only in Pennsylvania where I have lived and worked for the last 3 years. I am hoping to find something comparable to my current job... $22.41/hr (5 days, 8 hr shifts) BCBS benefits...

Does anyone have any other suggestions of EMS services (non-fire) in Texas or OK that are good places to work with good pay and benefits?

Are the 12 hour shifts a steady schedule with permanent partners? Does everyone work out of OKC? Or do you pick OKC or Tulsa?

Is the orientation paid at your hourly rate or something different? Is the schedule set with permanent partners?

What is the academy? Do you know anything about their health benefits? Do they have a pension program? Are they private or government ? Do you know what type of shifts they have? Steady rotating schedule?

For OKC, I saw the relocation bonus...what is that all about and is it legit? Also, what is the pay and benefits like there? OKC has came into my mind as I have family in the area.

So I left the PearsonVue testing center feeling like crap. I feel like I did well on some areas, but others I feel like I completely sucked it up. I ended the test on question 150 I believe. So yea...advice or comments?
