i don't wear one at all, front or back. i've never seen anyone wear one in the back and maybe 10% of the 50 +/- different people i've worked with wear one up front.

private service, atlanta area, emt-i: $11.25 hr. time/half for ot, tho they discourage it. there are medical benefits but i choose not to use them. i know of a couple others, private & 911 where the hourly is comparable, and there are some where it goes a couple bucks both ways, up & down...

besides a emt, i'm also a paperhanger. (and go to school part time. and if the interview goes well tomorrow, an er tech):blink:

something i do sometimes and recommend to new drivers, pull forward another truck length or two more than normal if possible, then back up. you get more of a "big picture" view and can help put things in a better perspective.

i agree it's about expect to be treated as you treat others, but if you walk by like i'm not there, and i acknowledge you and get nothing in return, that's on you. i'm not sure about our company's rep, i'll have to find out a little about that. maybe i'll ask some of the other private guy's...

are all 911 ems azzholes? i work for a private service and i find it sad and amusing when 911 personnel won't say hi or wave when you run across each other. my favorites are the one's who won't even look at you or acknowledge you're there like you're some kind of sub-human life form. i passed...

i work for a private service. there are a lot of fireman working part-time who automatically head for the drivers seat. it's as if they don't know the back of the truck even exists. and lazy, wooo boy.

i can look at anything, it's the smells that get to me. i have hurled before. we went to pick up a patient, 400lb+, and the nurses rolled him on his side and this smell filled the room. i walked to the door, pulled off one of my gloves and threw up in it. :unsure::P

i just bought 4 boxes in front of my publix. do they even go door to door anymore? tagalongs...mmm...mmm :)
