I got hired last week at a local IFT company as an EMT. Anyone have any tips or advice as what to expect? This will be my first job in the EMS world besides being on my county's volunteer service.
I am joining my local county's volunteer service and I had to get a PPD test today, and go back Wednesday to have it looked at. I'm paranoid for some reason about being positive for TB. Could they possibly not accept me into the program if I am a carrier?
I've done the ride alongs needed here in SC for my EMT-B classes, but for the week of thanksgiving I am going to be in the Tampa, FL and wanted to see if it were possible for me to ride with an agency there to see how things are done in a completely different area. Do you guys think this is...
Well yesterday I had a panel interview for the local county EMS auxiliary program. Does anyone here have any experiences with an auxiliary EMS program? What all did yours include? I probably should have asked some more questions as I am not sure what to expect.
I hear back in a week though...

It's quite sad  Its been on my local news all day being only 20 mins away from this.
My thoughts out to their friends, family, co-workers.
Hey guys!
I've lurked this website for about a month now but just now got up the courage to make an account and post! :D
I'm 21 and currently in EMT-B training in SC. I have a deep passion for this profession and I can't wait to get certified. ^_^
When you all were first in training or right...
