    US to New Zealand

Hey all, i have searched threads about Americans going to New Zealand but nothing recent. Everything is from 2 years ago or longer. Just seeing if anyone has updated info on that. Hopefully someone from there? What is the process of reciprocity of any? Would it be easier to maybe just go to...

Jobs in Washington State for a newbie?

Wow you got plenty of experience that will count towards points! Like Drax says you won't have too much trouble I think. If you really want to milk school though, I would suggest going through nursing school, getting your RN. Then you can do a 2 week RN to paramedic transition. this way you can...

Jobs in Washington State for a newbie?

Last I heard, Bates doesn't even get you your FF1. And the training, from what I've been told, is a joke. That was all from a coworker who went there. I wouldn't waste my time . Unless DEmedic or someone else can say otherwise ? For volunteering I would recommend Riverside Fire dept in...

    Olympic Ambulance Lacey, WA

Actually Trimed would also be a good option. Pay is decent nowadays and you'll get gnarly medic dumps from king county medic one. I'd still go with ALS yakima though

    Olympic Ambulance Lacey, WA

Actually if you can swing it you should go for ALS Yakima. Pay is absolute bottom of the barrel but you work 48s so you have time for other things and the experience you'll get will not compare to anywhere else private ambulance wise

    Olympic Ambulance Lacey, WA

Olympic pays super low but you will probably get some decent experience. Do not work for rural /metro in snohomish/king counties it's super boring and a poisonous culture. In pierce County though it's better. Pay is better than oly in both r/m ops

    AMR salary in Seattle?

Wow that's quite a resume you got! I'm sure your experience has been way more interesting than most of us here. But yea it's really not the worst job ever, you'll get your legitimate calls and stuff. Sounds like you'll have it all figured out soon enough. And I'm always open to the beer offer...

    AMR salary in Seattle?

Oh no I mean a 3/4 split with 12 hour shifts so like M, T, W every other Th or something along those lines. The only 24s they have are the nurse cars. Not sure what kind of shift they work.. The only other places that do 24s are Northwest ambulance up in Marysville who actually pays the same as...

Jobs in Washington State for a newbie?

Oh yea that war is always brewing. Now with R/M and AMR joining forces it's mostly just between them and Falck.

    AMR salary in Seattle?

AMR seattle starts brand new emts at $14.17 per hour. highest in the region for private ems. Typical shift is a 3/4 split. From what I'm told OT is either feast or famine. Holiday season is rough obviously for finding OT.

Jobs in Washington State for a newbie?

Honestly job prospects for entry level emts are probably the best I've seen them in a few years. I think people are finally realizing how little they will make as an emt and less are pursuing it which is finally creating a demand for emts. I would say average starting pay has gone up at least 2...

    Paramedic jobs in Washington?

If you go to amr.net and look at jobs in Washington, they have quite a few paramedic openings and about half a dozen with 5000 sign on bonuses. Just throwing that out there.

    Welcome Rural Metro!

The FTC, or whatever it's called, approved the merger on October 1st. Now we need to wait for the other regulatory organizations to approve it but the Federal one was the biggest road block. So sounds like every thing is moving forward! They expect to be merged by the end of this year.

    Paramedic jobs in Washington?

I know for Clark County, AMR in Vancouver is the non fire service. I hear the pay isn't too terrible , and they are primary. Try north country ems near mt st Helens which is the county run service . They usually are always hiring part time medics and pay $18 an hour. You could work both!

Falck - or the 900-pound gorilla no one is aware of

You'll have to keep us all up to date about what's what's going on! Interesting to see how this all goes down.

    King County and Medical Direction

Many non King County fire dept medic units have MEDIC ONE branded on them. I believe they buy into/receive grants from the foundation or something. Or just uae it cause it sounds cool? Idk. But you do not need to be King County/UW/Harborview trained. There are multiple Pierce County FDs...

Las Vegas Fire looking to take over transports from AMR

Very interesting! Where I work, it's a similar situation. We (private amb) Are required to have medics but we technically have the BLS contract so we do the bs calls only unless they run out of fire medic units. But if there's a code around the corner from us the fire medics instead are sent...
