    Volunteer Fee???

The whole concept of having to pay to volunteer seems a bit strange. The only thing I can ever recall paying for in a volunteer agency is additional uniform parts. (We were provided with one shirt, one pair of pants - if members wanted to purchase additional items, such as sweaters or a second...

    Looking for reflective trim

I know Sands sells 3M reflective tape in 1 Meter strips, although - from what I see, only in 1' or 2' inch quantities. Not sure if that's going to work for your needs or not - but I figured I mention it and let you look for yourself...

    Ear Peices

My service purchased a few ear pieces, with the hope that they might be useful at large events (i.e. concerts) where hearing the shoulder mic might be difficult. However, many people (myself included) have found the earpieces uncomfortable, and a hindrance. Trying to talk to another person...

    Ferno Trauma Bags

That's truly disappointing to hear. Although we've only had the bags for a few days now; they seem to be holding up just fine. No complaints...yet. Were there any particular areas of the bag that seemed to be problematic? It's truly a shame to hear that a company like Ferno, which a well...

    Ferno Trauma Bags

Ouch...that's not exactly encouraging, considering the considerable cost we incurred purchasing these bags. If these bags fell apart, did Ferno not cover them under the warranty? Was it a manufacturing defect? On the brighter side, I'm glad Pacific is making their bags again.

    Ferno Trauma Bags

Just an update....our service ended up going with the 5111 bags. Although they are slightly bigger than some of the other bags; they provide us with ample room to store all of our previous equipment, as well as allow for the addition of additional supplies.

    Ferno Trauma Bags

Hello, Our service is looking at purchasing new trauma bags. We can get the Ferno 5111 Trauma/O2 or the 5107 Professional Trauma Bag for the same price (+/- $5). Having said that, our service currently carries O2 in a separate bag and will most likely continue to do so, simply for weight...

    BLS Bike Medic

I couldn't agree more. Cloth knuckle bandages have to be one of the most - if not the most - versatile (and useful) bandages around for treating minor cuts/scrapes/etc. We might have to look into getting some of these. As of right now, we are currently using sterile ns w/ eyecups for the odd...

    BLS Bike Medic

Thanks for your suggestions. We are currently in the process of obtaining symptom relief certification, which includes epi and glucometry, along with 5 or 6 other SR drugs. Once all of our i's are dotted and our t's crossed, we will definitely be adding those to the kit. Re: pen lights and...

    BLS Bike Medic

We will definitely be partaking in a Bike Medic course. One of our medic's is actually in the process of becoming a Bike Medic instructor as we speak. In regards to safety gear, each member will be issued (and required to wear) a bicycle helmet. Thanks for your input!

    BLS Bike Medic

Many thanks. I'll try to see if we can add a few more icepacks/bandaids. I have yet to actually see these bags - I'm hoping everything will fit.

    BLS Bike Medic

Yeah. I think the plan is to have riders ride in pairs with one carrying the trauma supplies, the other carrying O2/AED. I will look into equipping our bike unit with a repair kit as well, as per your suggestion. Many thanks!

    BLS Bike Medic

Hello, We are going to be implementing a BLS Bike Medic Team in light of a large upcoming festival at the end of August. A sponsor has recently donated several R&B 1306 bags that we plan to use as mini-trauma bags. (Additional bags will be needed/purchased for O2/AED). In addition to...
