    Glasses vs. Contacts

Every time some random thing goes careening off of my glasses lens I'm glad I wear them. Every time they fog up, get prints, or rain on them, I despise wearing them. Saving up for laser heat vision. I can always wear clear/tinted glasses afterward.

    No more sternal rubs??

I had both a classmate and a coworker that have scars from when they got a sternal rub when the rubber didn't remove their ring. Both of them women and neither happy about the scars on their chests. I stick with a trap pinch myself.

    Recert by exam

You can also google for JB Learning's current coupon codes. I used JBALL2 to get 25% off for the navigate 2 test prep. I'm going to give it a try since it is so highly recommended.

Can I live off of 29,000 a year

Definitely look into budgeting software, once you get rolling you'll always know how much you need and for what. Don't forget to contribute towards your retirement, and start early, because you can't catch up later. I recommend YNAB (you need a budget)

Stethoscope, more of a symbol than a tool

I personally find it comical when my partner gets the old neck scope caught on the patient as the stretcher is being unloaded.

    Ask Your Billing Questions Here!

If you are charting that, you probably should chart WHY they needed to be draw-sheet transferred or otherwise. Was it because it was easier or quicker for you or because the patient was completely incapable of other methods of transfer? Just like you would chart that you placed an IV, but was it...

    EMS discontinuing life support.

Agreed, I'm not going to simply walk into someone's life for 10 minutes and make a choice to end it. This needs to be handled by their long term caregivers.

    IFT BLS EMT

There are opportunities to step outside the normal role as an EMT. I've had the privilege to be an active participant in minor surgical and various outpatient procedures after building a rapport with some of the doctors, facilities, and hospitals we frequent. It's very cool to be a part of...

    Any billing specialists here?

Edit to above: meant abbreviations, not acronyms, just in case there is any confusion

    Any billing specialists here?

Thanks for your input! I'm going to setup a small meeting because there are a few conflicting requirements making an "appropriate" CC difficult at times, including not using acronyms in CCs, CCs must be an exact match between PCR and ePCR, but with very limited space on the paper chart (I've...

    Any billing specialists here?

Our billing department is getting a little iffy about chief complaints, paraphrased "because ICD-10". Our company policy is that the CC on our ePCR must match our paper chart PCR exactly. Both are required by our billing department, and yes we end up charting in duplicate and triplicate. But...

    Any billing specialists here?

We had a user or two awhile back that stated they were very familiar with the billing/insurance/CMS side of EMS, I was wondering if anyone with that pedigree was still hanging around here? Anyone that actually submits charts to insurance for reimbursement?
