Whew, talk about a "welcome back to work after 2 weeks of vacation" 0330 we get woken up to Relocate to cover another stations area, not uncommon when a big incident is happening somewhere (my station is one specially designated to Relo to cover the gaps)... and then we get dispatched to the...

The Medic seemed quite confident in requiring the paperwork on hand. Like the Pt even pulled put her phone to record and the Medic reiterated the need for the actual paperwork on hand.

Which US Presidential Candidate is More Pro-EMS?

I mean, one party is generally more pro-Union, supports raising minimum wage, supports expanding healthcare access in general The other party is promoting a platform that is anti-Union, thinks any suggestions of raising the minimum wage is "communism" (and wouldn't mind getting rid of minimum...

So my Department has a tradition where we brunch on the weekends. Like everyone buys something for brunch and brings it in and we do a group cook. Alternatively we could go out and order out from someplace. Last week we were coming on duty from one of the other watches that had ordered out from...

    Patient steals ambulance

Looks like they tried a couple times... I'm just wondering why they didn't block the road at that cul-de-sac?! Like you see him driving around, and yet they all dutifully pull off and give him enough room to drive out, instead of cutting off before he got around to drive on the sidewalk in the...

Dayam, one of our ambulances came within inches of crashing while transporting a patient, because of a boneheaded (I'd have some undue attention from the Mods if I wrote what I really thought about them) driver... Basically, transporting, two lane (1 lane ea direction) road, ambulance lights...

Kind of actually, yes. Tailboard is def big enough to stand on and ride fairly comfortably, and there's the buzzer buttons (1 for stop 2 for reverse, or whatever) to signal the driver (though we never use them, because we are strictly forbidden from actually tailboard riding haha)

Not an ambulance, but despite being a hot, humid, 80* year round, we can't seem to figure out A/C in any of our trucks, they always break, and the Maintenance Shop can't fix them, and we're just told "too bad so sad, roll down the window for A/C" In other news, because our 10 year old...

    Out of area transport

My two cents, which really are only worth that $0.02 since it's been close to 7 years si cents I've worked in Los Angeles County.... but I remember LA and OC being relatively unique/"special" in that they were really some of the only County/LEMSAs that required an additional local Co cert on top...
