everybody is wrong sometimes. first rule is do no harm. if it's abundantly obvious and it is placing the pt in danger then you need to speak up (in as tactful a way as possible). if not ask questions later.

version of SOAP we call SOAPE. it seems to work pretty well. we have criteria for what needs to be in each section so it's not that hard once you get a feeling for it and it tends to be pretty complete (provided you are not slacking :rolleyes: ).

I've been told that. There's a tendancy to focus on the advanced aspects of the course and neglect the base that it's built on. That's why our school has practice days and dedicated to just bls skills in addition to having labs open for extra practice on anything we're having trouble with :)

Glad that you are out of the hospital! :) Is there a way that you can appeal the decision? Being hospitalized was something beyond your control, and given your record they should have provisions for unusual situations. We had a similar situation but the student was given exception because of...

if you're uncomfortable with it then you shouldn't stay. when you're in charge of pt care then it's your responsibility to see that things are done right. i think it was the right choice :)

some people naturally have pressures this low too. main thing they tell us is to look at the pt and treat accordingly. the whole "treat the pt not the monitor/tool/etc."
