^^^this As said already, I would never apply to a service that asked for it. But, not being desperate for a job, gives you these options. Some may need the job so much that they are willing to give up their privacy for it. That is each persons choice to make. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

Do you think it is good practice to draw bloods in the field?

The Lab sent out an email recently that from April-dec 2016, there were 544 pts with cultures drawn in the field. 0% contamination in all 544 draws. Once the procedure becomes routine, the rates stabilize. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

Do you think it is good practice to draw bloods in the field?

We ran the pilot study for it. Average was 4.7%. Equal to the ED rates. Actually had two months with 0%. Lab stated that it had never seen that before. We ran strict procedures for it. So the providers paid closer attention to sterile environment. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

Do you think it is good practice to draw bloods in the field?

I agree on only drawing them on pts that are getting abx. The contamination rate is not really an issue, if crews are taught correct procedures. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

Do you think it is good practice to draw bloods in the field?

Sorry, long night. Yes, I would not give abx unless you can draw cultures first. The Lab tech would hunt you down and kill you in your sleep!!! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

Do you think it is good practice to draw bloods in the field?

This is why you draw the cultures in the field, prior to abx administration. It is in no way harming the pts. Actually helping your sepsis pts. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

    Expungement to EMT

No they cannot see it all. Some are sealed by the courts and do not show up. I have seen people admit to records and have proof of it. FBI and military back ground checks could not even find them. It all depends on the state and courts on how they are sealed. For the OP, just be honest up front...

    Expungement to EMT

True. But, most records are sealed. So the person has to be honest up front! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

    Expungement to EMT

Also depends on state. Most juvenile records are sealed at 18 and do not show up on background checks. Unless, they are for violent felonies. Misdemeanors normally do not matter much. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

    Fluid Resuscitation in Sepsis

I understand that. But they have seen good outcomes with this pilot. It was a trial pilot, which is now going statewide. It has been presented at multiple medical conferences with a lot of good feedback on it. Is this for every system, that I do not know. I just thought I would share this for...

    Fluid Resuscitation in Sepsis

Sorry about that. It was in the PowerPoint presentation I was reading. I cannot figure out how to post it here. It stated that the hospital system had the lowest mortality rates from sepsis in their history. ICU admissions dropped dramaticly. In hospital costs dropped along with it. Sent from...

Study on Survival vs Intubation during IHCR

You hit that point spot on. You should be the Medic that does not want to intubate your pt. There are times that a pt will need to be intubated. Then there are times we think a pt needs to be intubated. The latter are the ones we should be doing all we can not to have to intubate! Sent from my...
