Look for an Ivy Tech Workforce Certification Center in your area. Thats who I had to call to schedule my practical in Indiana for EMT-Basic. It cost about $85 for the practical, & another $15 to take the state exam.

I'm looking around at insurance providers outside the work place. Since, I've had the cheap insurance a lot my check has been going into a Health Savings Account. The major draw back is going to be not having money for HSA.:wacko: except what is already saved.

I have a question on the topic of ride alongs. What does the service you work for allow EMT-B students to do? Or what do they let ride along EMT-B`s do (not currently employeed with your service)? Do you mind if they ask patients questions? Vitals? Assessment?

The area has a small city with a population of about 120,000 people. Which has AMR for city Ambulance, & then the fire department handels county. Not saying AMR doesn`t answer county calls. Then everything for the next 9 counties is well rural county EMS; however, their all Med/EMT-B team.

Thats why I`m doing an Ambulance Intership this semester. Might do one this summer to. The job market for EMT-B is tight in this area. Heck, the community college is making about 20 EMT-B`s per semester.
