I worked at pro SF for a year and a half. You can absolutely stay on call the whole length of your employment, but like Angel said you initially have to have at least three days of availability. You can also pick up shifts that you can work. I left awhile ago, but SF was in Union negotiations...

Did anyone get a job offer for the San Jose 911 division this past week?

Rural Metro San Jose is making notifications today.

I believe they run IFT and CCT and have a contract with UCSF. They also run have some units on the board for 911.
