    28YOM, Syncope

Some kind of cardiac event on the right side affecting perfusion to the SA node? A coronary artery spasm or even a thrombus? Hence he dropped into a junctional or other escape rhythm for a couple of seconds, and a lack of brain perfusion caused the seizure/loss of consciousness? My other...

    Nursing home nurses/moving pt's

Yeah, I had no idea what that meant until I asked someone. I thought it meant someone was a resuscitated CPR. I walked around thinking, "Man, there sure are a lot of those full code patients. I thought most CPRs had poor outcomes...."

I do the same thing. (IFT) I always ask my patient the best/most preferred way to move him/her.

If they are PVCs, then those are runs of VTach, right?

The QRS's in the bizarre beats look to me to be right around .12. Can they be PVCs?

Relation betwen B.P and radial pulsation.

Don't know about ya'll, but I've had very sick/elderly/frail patients while working transports where we have had extreme difficulty finding any pulse at all. Definitely not a radial. BPs usually in the 80s/90s.

Yeah, I'm sure there a thousand threads like this. Still, I assumed you guys and gals would be nice and friendly and offer any advice. I have worked IFTs as a basic for 7-8 months or so. The program I'm attending is real good from everything I gather. They have an impressive array of...

    Remedies for chafing?

LOL. I don't know if you're male or female. If you're a man, what kind of underwear you're wearing could be a factor. I like boxer briefs, as they seem to prevent that, as long as they fit well. They are kind of tight, so the "V" of the inseams is right up under you. Hence, when you...

    MVA Scenario

Uhh.... Is this a trick question? I think I'm concerned with the DOA first. (I assume that means dead on arrival?) Unless he's missing a head or something, if this guy has any chance in the world of being revived, I'm loading him up and going. The arm fracture and the confused...

    Beginners’ Luck

Now's as good a place/time as any for me to introduce myself. I just finished my class and clinicals/rideouts in the DFW area. I am one National Registry test away from being a TX certified EMT-B. My first call.....I knew the very first call would be a harbinger of my entire EMS career...
