A lot of people us GPS. My phone has great GPS. If you cant read a mapbook then it would be good to learn but once you do the GPS is the best bet. Just like a calculator. Its good to know how to add but once you know whats wrong with using a calculator?

I went to the Livermore, CA. Fire Expo today and went through the CPAT for practice. I was not ready for that! I was drained after! It was more challenging then I expected. But I completed it in time and feel good.

Thanks for that ref! OP-I would report it to the Instructors supervisor and the instructor. If you dont feel comfortable reporting to the instructor (which is totally understandable) I would report it. That is out of line and un professional. A decent company would let him go.
