How long did your state take to send your license?

You are going to hate me for this, but both my EMT-Basic/Driver and EMT-Paramedic/Driver licenses were both acquired in the same day. I physically went down to the ADPH and turned my stuff in, and they gave my my card in about 15 min. Give them a call and see whats going on.

Is it normal that the closer you are to becoming a Paramedic the more

x2 for me. Im lucky in that on occasion, I get to have another medic ride with me, and they all push me to be better. (Our service sometimes schedules M/M trucks, esp on the overnights or weekends)

    Breath/Lung sounds

Oh yea, one tip Kelly gave was to turn the volume down on your playback device and listen thru your scope in order to make it more realistic.

how to gracefully bow out of one vollie to join another

I am assuming from the above that you cant ride alone due to lack of experience? If so, would you be able to get that experience at the other place? If that is the case, then there you have it. You make the move in order to better yourself to (maybe one day) come back and give your experience...

how to gracefully bow out of one vollie to join another

Couple of thoughts on that. Easy way is if the second vollie unit is closer than the first. "Hey guys, gas/time/whatever is killing me getting here, I need to transfer to other vollie unit." Second thought is the "My work here is done, time to move on. It is time for you all to contiune with...

    Medic Students!!!

Its just the books. What gets me is I thought I 'got' the subject material. Just finished all of my required clinicals yesterday, so now I can concentrate more on the books. At our clinical sites, the preceptors would tell me to go do something, and then they would go on to something else...

    CardioVascular discussion

You are correct, and you happen to hit on one of my biggest weak spots. One that I am trying to eliminate. (or reduce ;) )

    CardioVascular discussion

You know, I cant for the life of me remember how it was stated. The test was Tuesday, and Ive been thru 4 clinical rotations since then. (ouch) I think it was something like "Reduced PVR will cause a reduction in <blank>?" And the answer was preload. IIRC
