Moving to Dallas, TX - Where to apply?

Are you sure CareFlite is hiring? Every position on their website links to a page that says "We are no longer accepting applications for this position."

Was anyone scared of needles during paramedic school?

I pass out occasionally when I have blood drawn or get piercings.... but I let my classmates practice on me anyways. My instructors give us the option to decline, but do you really want to be the one person in class who isn't participating fully? I've found that my "fear" of needles has gone...

    Texas State EMT Certification?

I applied with the state on 4/18, took the NREMT on 5/3, got fingerprinted on 5/11, and was listed as an EMT on the DSHS website on 5/24. I haven't received my card in the mail yet, but some of my classmates have. Based on my timeline, I'd guess you'll get your certification pretty soon!

Is it really that hard to find a job in North Texas right now? I've got to say, the idea of having to commute so far once I finish my EMT-B class in April is kind of scaring me. I'm more than ready to be done with my current career.
