    Too old for EMS?

I think I got ya-all beat. Not really a contest I wanted to win though. 56 here. And I have asked that same question of myself...many times and probably will again today. I would love to go on to paramedic school but I would be close to 60 by the time I'm finished. But I may do it...

Good luck! Steph, I sure as heck hope they hire you 'cause if they don't I feel that my chances of getting hired are damn-near zilch. You were put through the mill and it sounds like you held up well. I had an interview about 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing yet. (I'm told they are still...

    Driving Record

In MA, if they're not paid it will show up as "nonrenewable." Meaning that until they're paid you can't renew your drivers license. Just be sure you paid them.

Thanks TinCan, I managed to get it all cleaned up and now have a clean report that, by the way, goes back ten years.

    Driving Record

I have an interview Tuesday the 7th. Unfortunately I have to get a copy (attested they call it) of my driving record. When I ordered the report ($20) I found out my license is non-renewable because of unpaid excise tax on one of my cars. Its not a hard to fix and I just renewed my license...

    general impression

Find someone to practice on. The week before my test, my adult daughter offered to be my PT. I told her what I needed to do and gave her my practice sheet. That helped a lot. I also told her to interrupt me here and there. This was so I could get used to finding my way back to where I...

The whole acting off duty topic.

Can anyone imagine what Norman Rockwell would be painting today? For some reason the author Stephen King comes to mind...sorry, off topic. I am an EMT-Basic but not employed yet. With no real experience I would not intervene in any emergency unless there were no other choices open. I...

Are you currently looking for a job in EMS?

Yep...don't I look it? I just received my sparkling new card 8-2. Currently carrying a big stick which I use to beat all the bushes I find and then wait to see what runs out.

Just finished my EMT-B class; need advice.

I decided to go with Pneumothorax's suggestion. The only problem is is that no one stocks the book. I had to order it. But I have till June 26th and a few weeks after that so I can wait a few days. I will let others know how it goes and if I think the book is helpful. A mini review maybe...

Like you, I would like the "case-based" questions so I am considering it. I guess it comes with a CD that has 2 test made to mimic the computer based test. Thanks. Roger.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. Pneumothorax, thanks for the ISBN. I think I saw that one at the book store last week. While tempted to buy it, I wasn't sure it would be up to date with a publish date of 2005. My text book "Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick...

Hi all, my name is Roger and I hope someone can point me in the right direction. My practical exam is June 26th and, of course, the written to follow. I happen to have some leftover gift cards from Barnes & Noble and I noticed they have some self-test/-help books for passing the EMT-B...
